Visit San Antonio's Civic Park
Once the grounds for the 1968 World's Fair, Hemisfair has been revitalized into a downtown community with homes, local businesses, and public parks. There are thoughtful touches throughout, including water features inspired by springs you'd find in Texas Hill Country and a promenade lined with Mexican Sycamore trees. Here are just a handful of the highlights:
- Tower of the Americas: From the top of this 750-foot-tall tower, take in the stunning panorama of San Antonio. While you're up here, have a meal in the revolving Chart House Restaurant or go for thrills on a 4-D theater ride.
- Mexican Culture Institute: Dive into the cultural and aesthetic richness of Mexican art and traditions at this free museum.
- Yanaguana Garden: There's always something fun to do at this all-ages garden, which features a railroad-themed splash pad, adaptive play equipment for wheelchair users, ping-pong tables, dog-friendly areas, and cornhole.
- Civic Park: A big green space plays host to everything from community festivals to live music to pick-up Frisbee games.
